About Miranda

How did I end up here?

From as early as I can remember, I have always been the person people come to for advice or to be heard. This desire to help others felt instinctual. My earliest memory of wanting to turn this into a career was in high school, when a play therapist spoke on career day and I instantly fell in love with the idea. After earning my bachelor's degree in child and family studies, I found my way to clinical mental health counseling in graduate school. Being a therapist has been the perfect fit, and I cannot imagine doing anything else.

Who do I work with?

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ adolescents and adults. As someone who identifies as part of this community, I understand the unique challenges these individuals face. I also work with individuals who struggle with unhealthy self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and more.

What style of therapy do I use?

I am a cognitive behavioral therapist who uses affirmative CBT, trauma-focused CBT, and incorporates elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

How do I run sessions?

I am a direct therapist who compassionately and gently encourages my clients to confront their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors head-on. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can collaboratively work towards your goals.

What do I do outside of being a therapist?

When I’m not in the office, I love spending time with my girlfriend, our two cats, my best friends, and family. You can find me collecting trivial things, binging mindless TV shows, cheering on the Dallas Stars, building Lego sets, enjoying music festivals, obsessing over Disney/Universal, and watching F1 races.

Collage of photos including a cat in a cozy room with toys, two friends at an ice hockey game, a view of a race track, a display of toys and collectibles, a woman in a black jacket inside a store, a clear sky with trees, and a crowd at a music festival.
